Born on Independence Day, 4th July 1935 to Mary Jane and William Tyson (a Mancunian). Born in Belfast, raised off Tates Avenue and moved to Bangor during the troubles with his 5 children - Jeff, Caroline, Frank, Iain and Fiona. Frank was a football fanatic, he was a ballboy at Windsor Park, played for Distillery and the civil service and was a keen Man Utd fan, regularly travelling to a match. He worked initially for Shorts and then Ford Motor Company as a Laboratory Analyst. Frank was a hard worker, dependable and a true gent. Upon retiring he much enjoyed golfing and bowls 4 times a week, his “Wednesday Club” at the Bryansburn Inn, helping his Son in Law Thomas with his local grocery retail business and spending time with his grandchildren- of which he had 15 and 8 great grandchildren.
